Here's the newest 8-song 10" from No Fealty, a Copenhagen based crust/hardcore band. They describe themsleves as caring about fast, loud, abrasive and aggressive music, politics, DIY and nice people. Their name basically means "No Loyalty". As far as their music goes, it's a non-stop barrage of ANGRY hardcore that stays mid-tempo for the most part, while dropping in bits of blast beats here and there along with a lot of interesting breakdowns. Above all else, the recording and production is top notch, making this record even more enjoyable.

PARAMNESIA is a French black-metal band and their half of this split is a 15min. track enigmatically named "III". This is epic, searing and mystical black-metal with some atmospheric post- and doom-metal sections included. If you think of black-metal such as DEAFHEAVEN you’ll be in the right area stylistically. UNRU from Germany, made some waves with their demo and split LP, contribute a 13min. song called "die welt in der wir sterben" to this release. UNRU's offering is a real mood-builder, with melody and post-metal influences tempered against the harsh, icy black-metal. The anguished vocals slice through the music and as with PARAMNESIA’s track the sound is first-rate and everything flows perfectly. The artwork sums up the top quality release.

Intense blackened hardcore mob Hexis have teamed up with harrowing
sludge bruisers Redwood Hill for a split release that showcases two of
Denmark’s most promising contemporary bands !
Hexis’ contribution, the absolutely terrifying ‘Tenebris’, is a furious little number, rife with black metal-esque bile and a palpable sense of anger. The band has also released a video for the song, created by Craig Murray (Converge, Narrows, Oxbox etc.), which you can view below.
Meanwhile, Redwood Hill dole out some slow motion punishment with the grinding ‘Applewhite’, resembling a much more evil version of Cult Of Luna. This is the first new material the band have released since dropping their monolithic debut album ‘Descender’.

"Unholy horns of everything awesome! Have you ever heard a record that has all of your brain cells spazzing out like a motherfucker head banging themselves against your skull and stage diving out of your ears? This happens to me every time I put on the new DEAF KIDS from Brazil, who happen to be one 20-year-old dude named Douglas. DEAF KIDS are an ultra extreme mix of everything I dig, and I could blast this band all day long without getting bored. Imagine if Lemmy fathered Discharge, who went on to have a hellspawn named Darkthrone – this would come sort of close to the rawness of DEAF KIDS. The Douglas is a genius in my book, because he knows how to lace all of his compositions with a blackened punk voodoo groove that creates electricity. Take “Man/Machine” for instance: it starts off with a dirty baseline before turning into serpent’s tongue riffs that make you want to be bitten with the drums’ rancid rage. Douglas’ vocals bleed with the oppressed people of his country coming through in every word. Something that’s very interesting is the way he uses melody, almost as another vocal. When you listen closely, you can hear these really awesome call and response things happening in the songs that only add to the drama of DEAF KIDS songs. It gets sicker – there is a spot-on cover of CRUCIFIX’s song “How, When and Where” that kicks ass! I was supposed to wait to review this, but I just couldn’t, I had to let the world know about it now. "

The band is doomy, sludgy, crusty, stoner-esque, and while their music is laced with generics, there is also something extremely well calculated about their brand of doomy sludge. but, there is less of the Electric Wizard and more the Eyehategod, Goatsblood, Iron Monkey, and early High On Fire coming through the tunes on this split, even some hardcore; so I guess you could say it’s out goes the doom, in comes pure crusty, dry- retching, abrasive sludge.

'Great
CD from MENTAT, really high quality from this Spanish band. The sound
fairly difficult to pin down but they have a strong experimental side to
their sludge, doom and post hardcore sound. Mostly screamed vocals are
given the perfect counterpoint by some beautiful ambient sections and
there are some real surprises here like the use of brass and clean piano
in parts. Well worth checking out.
6 tracks in 56 minutes, this is a very mature recording and an engrossing and epic listen.'

bands are from Arizona, but they represent pretty disparate styles of
music. DRONE THRONE plays a pretty standard sludge metal/punk hybrid
that gets a little too stoner-y at times for my taste, paying homage to
EYEHATEGOD, SLEEP, GRIEF, and the like. I definately relate to their
side of the split more. It has some strong riffs and some pretty Zen
moments. To my ears, TOAD fits the category of indie punk, sounding
something like MILE MARKER, HOT WATER MUSIC, and 45 GRAVE in a blender."

This thing is a beast, heavy and sludgy reminding me of an evil version
of SLEEP's Holy Mountain period. Though while SLEEP sang about smoking
pot and Christian mysticism, these guys sing about smoking pot and
Satan. So, i guess that whole evil thing makes sense. Fuzzed out bass
and vocals, nicely distorted guitars, samples that reference crime and
Satan... Who the fuck are these guys and where are they from? This does
not sound like a band producing their first demo but well seasoned
veterans. If you have any interest in stoner rock/metal track this
down!"
